UITGESTALD-1. An artist's book that highlights the current and future artist generation of Limburg.
The result of the open call for UITGESTALD-1 is known. In addition to work by Koen Vanmechelen (godfather of this first edition of UITGESTALD), the professional jury, consisting of Alicja Melzacka (curator at CIAP, Genk), Kristof Reulens (curator Emile Van Dorenmuseum, Genk) and Hilde Borgermans (curator at Emergent, Veurne), selected artworks from 17 other amazing Limburg talents!
THE ARTISTS
Elise Berkvens; Lennert Berx; Manu Bloemen; Tim Caenepeel; Vincent Dankaerts; Tine Deboelpaep; Gommaar Gilliams; Vicky Gruyters; Joke Hansen; Gideon Kiefer; Steven Antonio Manes; Annebeth Nies; Superview Tv; Niels Vaes; Elia Vanderheyden; Stefaan Vermeulen; Kristof Vrancken.
This selection represents different media and is characterized by a wide variety of backgrounds: from born and bred Limburger with Italian roots to immigrants from Dutch Limburg; from very young talents ), artists without any exhibition experience, to VONK residents and HISK and Wanatoe laureates to seasoned veterans with galleries at home and abroad.
The result was exhibited from Saturday, April 2nd 2022 with editions 1/101 at Uitstalling Gallery in Genk.
The book, published in an edition of 101 copies, is a collection of 18 numbered and signed editions that can be easily removed from the book. All artists received a copy of UITGESTALD-1 themselves. The remaining 81 available books were offered for sale on a non-profit basis at the price of €975. We closed our pre-registration on May, 8th.
